Hutchinson Builders recently attended the Australian Institute of Builders (AIB) National Awards in Canberra. Eddie Gangemi’s Team won two prestigious awards on the night for the Newstead Central project in Brisbane. The awards were the Professional Excellence Award for Residential Construction Over $100M and the Australian Building Professional of the Year which was a personal award to Eddie.

Newstead Central is a multi-stage residential development in the heart of inner Brisbane. Eddie’s team was awarded the design and construct contract after a competitive tender against six other builders. “Keep it simple, plan it well and execute in line with your plan,” said Eddie, “It really is that simple.” Eddie was also thankful for his team who worked tirelessly, giving their heart and soul to achieve the success of the project.

The AIB awards identify project excellence and celebrate the execution of the works by the team. Planning, innovation, strategies, challenges and how the team overcame them, programming, public relations and of course quality, were all in direct competition with other projects around Australia ranging from simple refurbishments, to multi billion-dollar projects.

Hutchies is thrilled that the AIB also recognised several of our other company members as leaders in construction with high commendations across the board.
