08/09/09 Hutchinson Builders proud to construct world class Emergency Services and Disaster Coordination Centre (Queensland Emergency Operations Centre - Kedron)
Hutchinson Builders is proud to be involved in the construction of a world class communications facility at Kedron in Brisbane Queensland.
The project will see the construction of a new emergency operations centre for the Department of Emergency Services at the Kedron Park complex.
The Department of Community Safety has designed a facility in line with the world's best practice for highly effective communications centre management and disaster coordination for Queensland and will be the largest of its type in the Southern Hemisphere.
Information and communication technology (ICT) form a major component of the project and is one of the key enablers achieving ‘world class facility’ status.
Hutchinson Builders commenced the project in June 2009 with an expected completion date of October 2010.
The project hopes to gain 5-star Green Star rating, using initiatives such as full water recycling, rainwater harvesting, low energy lighting and on-site power generation, co-generation (gas power generation) Tier 3 Disaster management UPS and diesel power generation.
The construction, the location and the technology to be built into the project are all challenges that Hutchinson Builders is well equipped to meet.
With a commitment to craftsmanship, meticulously crafted over our 97 history, Hutchinson Builders will proudly deliver a world class facility for the Queensland government and the people of Queensland.
