Project Overview
Seniors Community Living “The Point”, consists of 91 luxury style units built across 5 separate buildings. The development offers 2 gymnasiums, 2 pools, movie theatre, bowling green facilities, basement car parking and a number of activity/dining rooms spread throughout. The retail area consists of a café, general store, chemist and medical suites which are also open to the public. The Point is set amongst existing bushlands with boardwalks and easy access to the estuary and beach.
The basement construction predominantly in sand presented some issues with contamination and ground water. The project was delivered in 2 stages to allow handover and settlement of the first 54 units. Separable portion 2 of 37 units was completed with residents living in the first stage. Special consideration had to be allowed for circulation spaces in all the units to allow for those requiring present or future wheelchair access.
