Hutchies is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HSE Advisor to join our hard working team based in our Townsville office on a full time permanent basis.

This role reports to the Team Leader and HSE Advisor, working closely together to achieve our strategic goals objectives and contributing to the success of our projects.

#Responsibilities

As a HSE Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Implement Hutchies' Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Systems on each of our projects
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders, such as subcontractors, to continually improve HSEQ outcomes on Hutchies’ projects
  • Monitor legislative change and implement any local legislative change requirements
  • Prepare incident reports, undertake incident investigations, liaise with affected parties and the regulator as necessary
  • Provide HSEQ advice to other members of our team, including Site Managers and Project Managers, and subcontractors, as appropriate
  • Prepare, implement, monitor, and update project specific management plans based on Hutchies’ Management Systems
  • Complete inspections, audits, and reviews in line with the HSEQ Management System Management Plans

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum of Certificate IV – Workplace Health and Safety
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction specific legislation and Codes of Practice
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
