Hutchies welcomed three company members from Wates to Australia on 6 July as part of our six-month Global Building Exchange Program.

Dan Sims, Liv Nicholls and Charlene Sango spent their first week learning about Hutchies, our people and how we work. Their visit included project tours, introductions to discipline leads and support teams, and a trip to our Yatala crane and scaffold yard.

A mandatory Yatala Pie stop was also included along the way.

The week wrapped up with a farewell lunch at the Regatta for Connor Lee from Axiom Builders. Connor has spent the past 12 months working with Mitch Grimmer’s team at Hutchies as part of the Global Building Exchange Program and is now returning to Canada.

The program gives participants the chance to work across different markets, projects and construction environments. It also helps build international connections across the construction sector.

As part of this year’s program, Charlene will join Andrew Doyle’s team in Melbourne. Dan and Liv will work with project teams in Brisbane.

Hutchies is proud to continue its exchange partnerships with Wates and Axiom Builders. These partnerships help develop future construction leaders, while sharing knowledge and experience across organisations.
