For more than a century, Hutchies has helped shape communities across Australia – not just through construction, but by creating spaces where people come together. Our work on The Fortitude Music Hall is a perfect example.
Developed by Hutchies, The Fortitude Music Hall hit a major milestone this year, celebrating six years since opening its doors in Brisbane’s live music heartland, Fortitude Valley.
The venue, known as The Fort, has become a magnet for music lovers. Since launch, it has hosted 1,000 shows and welcomed more than one million fans. Performers love it too, thanks to its top-tier sound and lighting, multi-level mezzanine with clear stage views, easy truck access for bands, and well-equipped backstage spaces.

In a nod to its impact on the local live music scene, The Fort was recently named Metro Venue of the Year at the Queensland Music Awards 2025.
Behind the success is a collaboration between landlord and tenant – Scott Hutchinson, John (JC) Collins (former Powderfinger bassist) and Paul Piticco (former Powderfinger manager and Splendour in the Grass co-founder). This isn’t their first venture together. In 2014, they teamed up to open The Triffid, now a favourite stop on the national touring circuit.

Hutchies’ latest move has expanded the Valley precinct even further. By acquiring properties in Warner Lane, the team has created a laneway hub offering live music, food and drinks seven days a week.
