Our long-term mates at Burleigh Leagues Club have always backed their community, and Team Hutchies jumped on the rowers to help.
Burleigh Bears player Jacek ‘Yak’ suffered a life-changing spinal injury earlier this year, please of people wanted to get behind him.
Together, company members completed a 42 km stationary rowing challenge, with the machine counting down from 42,000 metres to zero. Every metre was shared across the team, with one goal in mind – raising funds to support Yak and his family through recovery and rehabilitation.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, supporters and everyone who helped spread the word, the effort raised $22,000 from the Hutchies team and $100,000 overall.
The rowing challenge was never about setting records. It was about showing up for a mate and helping lighten the load during a tough time.
