Hutchies has recently completed the new Junior School at Brisbane Girls Grammar School in Spring Hill, Brisbane.
As one of Brisbane’s most established and respected schools, the campus carries a strong sense of history and tradition. The new Junior School builds on that legacy, adding contemporary learning spaces while sitting comfortably within the school’s long‑standing architectural and cultural context.
Delivered by the Mitch Grimmer team, the project provides flexible, modern environments for students and teachers. The design balances future‑focused learning with a clear respect for the character of the existing campus

To mark the project’s completion, Hutchies’ Chairman, Scott Hutchinson, joined the Principal and project team for the unveiling of a specially commissioned artwork by Julia Sirianni.
Julia is an alumnae of Brisbane Girls Grammar School, and Hutchies commissioned the artwork from her as a gift to the school. The connection was intentional. The project team set out to find an artist with a genuine link to the school community.
The fact that Julia is also the wife of a Hutchies company member was purely coincidental, but another special connection we feel honoured to have uncovered.

Brisbane Girls Grammar School has a strong tradition of artworks across their campus. The intention was to contribute one of the first pieces of art to the new Junior School, helping embed a sense of continuity, care and belonging from day one.
The unveiling was a meaningful moment to acknowledge the shared effort behind the project. It reflected the relationships, trust and collaboration that guided the work from early planning through the completion

We’re proud of the outcome and even prouder of our partnership with Brisbane Girls Grammar School. We look forward to sharing more of this project, including the spaces, details and teamwork that brought the new Junior School to life.
