Earlydetectioninaction
Hutchies has continued its push for early detection, hosting a mobile skin check clinic at our Brisbane office.
Following the success of last year’s Yatala Yard visit, the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation (ASCF) Mobile Clinic returned to allow more of our people to get checked. Being on site makes it easier to prioritise health, especially for those working across projects in tough Australian conditions.
Over three days, the results showed just how important these checks are:
- 121 skin checks completed
- 17 suspicious spots identified
- 6 atypical naevi (moles)
- 5 suspected melanomas
- 1 suspected squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)
- 3 suspected basal cell carcinomas (BCCs)
- 3 solar keratoses (actinic keratoses)

The innovative mobile clinic has Australia’s most advanced scanning technology inside.
The truck includes a full-body 3D scanning machine with more than 90 cameras. It captures a detailed image of the body in just a few seconds. The system maps every mole and freckle and highlights any new or changing spots.
From there, people move into private consult rooms where clinicians complete a full skin check. They compare the scan with a physical assessment and provide a detailed report.
It’s fast, thorough and accessible – all from a mobile clinic parked onsite.
Each early diagnosis gives someone a better chance of treatment and recovery. Early detection saves lives.
This initiative continues to build on the momentum from Hutchies’ Yatala Yard who were the first to engage ASCF and has had popular uptake across many of Hutchies’ people.
A big thank you to Matilda Fowke for organising the Toowong clinic and making it happen.
We also thank the crew from the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation Mobile Clinic for their care, professionalism and commitment to every person they saw.
By bringing skin checks directly to our people, we’re making it easier to stay on top of health.
