The award winning Ipswich Commercial Tower was the first stage of the Icon master plan redevelopment scheme and the Ipswich CBD's first 5 Star Green Star rated building. It comprises nine storeys, 18,000m² of office space, and a three level underground car park. The PCA A grade commercial office building achieved a 5 Star Green Star Office Design rating and a 5 Star As-Built rating with interiors equivalent ratings, as well as a 5 Star NABERS energy rating.

The building is the Ipswich home of 10 government departments including Justice and Attorney General, Education, Housing and Public Works, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs, Environment and Natural Resources and Mines as well as head office of SEQ Water. 

Hutchinson Builders redesigned the upper ground floor to create a future “link” for a later stage (Tower B), including a complete redesign to the front of house and redesign of a fire engineered solution in order to enhance the architecture of the building to complement the extent of exposed feature concrete.
