Hutchies delivered the Bendigo Kangan Institute Health & Community Centre of Excellence (HaCCoE), a 5 Star Green Star education facility, for Bendigo Kangan Institute in Broadmeadows. This future-ready campus is the first step in an ambitious masterplan to transform the site into a leading education hub.

The new three-storey HaCCoE building includes flexible teaching and learning spaces, advanced healthcare and community specialist facilities, lifelike simulation labs, and collaborative workspaces for students and educators. The design supports hands-on learning and reflects BKI’s industry-focused approach to preparing students for real-world careers.

Built to last, the structure combines modern architecture with sustainable construction. It uses the latest green building technologies to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Natural light fills the building, creating a welcoming and productive environment.

Inside, the facility offers 2,100m² of specialist training spaces – including nursing, aged care and childcare simulation areas – alongside 750m² of general learning spaces, 420m² of breakout zones, and 870m² of staff accommodation. These spaces are designed to support a range of learning styles and encourage collaboration.

The HaCCoE building is more than just a place to study – it’s a vibrant community where students and educators work together to build skills, share knowledge, and shape the future of care professions.
