Building a new chapter at Mount Alvernia College

Hutchies is delivering a new library for Mount Alvernia College in Kedron, creating a contemporary learning environment for current and future students.
The project brings together a new learning centre and auditorium, alongside campus infrastructure, services and landscaping upgrades.

A key feature is the new mass timber structure, which combines glue-laminated timber columns and beams with cross-laminated timber walls and floors. Many of these elements will remain exposed throughout the learning spaces.

The library will also feature artist collaborations with Kim Ah Sam and Megan Cope, connecting art, culture and learning within the new building. Kim Ah Sam’s six dry-etch prints have been transformed into a custom artwork for the library ceiling.

We are proud to partner with the College on this important investment in education and help bring its vision for the campus to life.
