Off the back of our success with the redevelopment of the Broken Hill Base Hospital and Dental Facility, the NSW Government awarded Hutchies the tender to deliver the Mudgee Hospital Redevelopment. The exciting new project was part of the Federal Government’s plan to upgrade health facilities across regional Australia. 

Hutchinson Builders redeveloped the outdated facility into a state-of-the-art hospital featuring a range of services including emergency care, general medical and surgery, maternity, ambulatory care, dental, renal dialysis and oncology. The design was considered to cater for future growth, bringing much needed health infrastructure to the increasing population in and around Mudgee. 

Construction of the first-class medical facility was undertaken in stages on the existing hospital site, with all current services continuing to operate throughout the build. Hutchies has a strong reputation for executing projects within complex live environments and expects minimal disruption to hospital patrons.

The project secured around 275 jobs during in construction and related industries, boosting employment opportunities across the region. Hutchies coordinated with local NSW subcontractors to achieve a representative workforce that comprises of 30% apprentices and 4% Indigenous personnel.
