Hutchies is proud to have delivered Queensland’s first Langham Hotel as part of the iconic Jewel precinct at Broadbeach, Gold Coast. The project included the fitout of 169 hotel rooms, including presidential and executive suites, along with 11 different five star event facilities across three levels and three towers. These event spaces can cater to various needs, featuring a 550+ capacity ballroom and more than five different conference areas. These areas are supported by two levels of back of house facilities integrated into the existing basement.

The fitout also featured six different dining areas, each providing a unique culinary experience. T’ang Court Restaurant stands out with its prestigious Michelin 3 star rating for Cantonese cuisine. Akoya offers a delightful ocean view dining experience, while 26 & Sunny provides a relaxed café atmosphere with scenic ocean vistas. Palm Court is perfect for enjoying high tea, and the Lobby Bar offers a casual space for drinks and socialising. Additionally, guests can enjoy beverages in the open air at the Outdoor Bar. Other facilities include an ocean view gym, an indoor magnesium pool, a kids play area / kids club, and the Chuan Spa with seven individual treatment rooms.

Completed under a collaborative design and construct model, Hutchies partnered with DBI as the building architect and worked closely with The Langham Hotel’s interior designer, Studio Aria. The opulent design of the hotel required strict design management and an onsite quality regime to meet the client’s expectations.

Construction began in late 2020 under a fast tracked program during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hutchies’ team did an incredible job juggling the changing environment, procurement challenges, and several active workfronts simultaneously across the site.

The project involved over 60 different types of tiles, 50 variations of stone, and more than 180 architectural light fittings sourced globally. Hutchies secured client approval for all required items within the first three months to ensure timely installation, despite some luxury finishes having a 26 week lead time. This high risk aspect of the project required regular coordination and monitoring.
