Hutchies has delivered a new low-rise (two-storey) residential development in Bundaberg East on behalf of the Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works (QBuild). The project involved the construction of 12 dwellings, including six lowset detached dwellings pre-built in the QBuild Rapid Accommodation and Apprenticeship Centre. Completed over a 30-week program using modern methods of construction (MMC), the project showcased Hutchies’ capability in efficient, high-quality modular delivery.

This initiative supports social housing outcomes in the Bundaberg region, providing much-needed homes through a streamlined construction process. By using modular components fabricated in Hutchies’ controlled environments, the team was able to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality and compliance. Modular construction is a gamechanger for regional communities – bringing the supply of housing online faster and reducing disruption.

The Princess Street project is part of our broader commitment to deliver sustainable, community-focussed housing solutions across Queensland.
