Hutchies’ 105th celebrations continued in Rocky with a fitting bash in the fancy new ‘Upper Level’ at Headricks Lane, with around 150 staff, clients and contractors.
Hutchies has a historic connection with Rockhampton, having worked in the region since we built the Berserker Street State School in 1916. Late in 1941 we also built the now iconic Rockhampton Town Hall. That project – a landmark building for the town – took two years and cost £50,000 to build. It was the beginning of a long association with the Central Queensland region. Hutchies went on to establish a physical presence in Rocky in 2010, and we currently have a permanent team of 25 in our Kent Street office.
“It was great to be able to thank our clients and reward the team and trusted suppliers,” said Kevin Whitaker, who leads Hutchies’ Rocky crew. “We all work hard, so it’s nice to get together and celebrate”.
