Hutchies is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic 3rd Year Carpentry Apprentice to join our hard working team on a full time permanent basis. Based out of our Toowong office, you'll gain valuable hands on experience while working alongside skilled trade professionals across a variety of construction projects.

This role reports to the Team Leader and Site Team, working closely together to achieve our strategic goals objectives and contributing to the success of our projects.

#Responsibilities

As a 3rd Year Carpentry Apprentice, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with a variety of carpentry and construction activities across commercial building projects
  • Study blueprints, sketches, specifications, and building plans to help prepare project layouts and determine required materials and dimensions
  • Measure, mark, and cut materials using hand tools and power tools safely and accurately
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations while maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work environment
  • Install, construct, and assist with a range of carpentry elements under the guidance of qualified tradespeople
  • Support subcontractors and site teams while gaining exposure to all phases of the construction process
  • Perform manual labour tasks including lifting, carrying, moving materials, and site preparation
  • Develop strong time management skills and work effectively within a team environment
  • Listen to and follow instructions from senior project team members while demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Current enrolment in a Certificate III in Carpentry
  • Progression through your 3rd Year Carpentry Apprenticeship
  • Previous exposure and experience working on construction sites
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Reliable attendance and a solid work ethic
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skill
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Pride in your workmanship and attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively alongside tradespeople, subcontractors, and site teams
  • A positive, down to earth attitude
