Hutchies is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Carpenters to join our hard working team based in Townsville, on a full-time permanent basis.

#Responsibilities

As you develop with Hutchies as an Apprentice Carpenter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations, and maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
  • Measure materials or distances, using square, measuring tape, or rule to lay out work
  • Support our subcontractors, and observe and participate in the full range of phases of a construction project
  • Manual labour including lifting, carrying, using power tools
  • Developing time management skills, working well within a group, listen to instructions from senior project team members

#Requirements & Application process

Previous exposure to the industry through work experience or other means, will be highly valued.

To be successful in this role, you ideally will have completed a VET is schools or other pre-apprenticeship program, and a great attitude towards work, show initiative, be self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn.

You will have a white card, driver's license and/or reliable transport, and be committed and determined to finish your Apprenticeship and become a qualified commercial Carpenter, and future leader within Hutchies.
