Hutchies' Crane & Hoist Team are actively seeking skilled and motivated Electrical Technicians to join our hardworking team based at the Hutchies Yard in Ormeau, QLD, on a full time permanent basis.
Whether you have experience working with tower cranes and hoists or are looking to apply your electrical trade skills to a specialised area of the construction industry, we'd love to hear from you.
This role reports to the Hutchies Crane & Hoist Manager and Team, working closely together to achieve our strategic goals objectives and contributing to the success of our projects.

#Responsibilities
As an Electrical Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, servicing and repairs on tower cranes, personnel and material hoists, and associated lifting equipment
- Diagnosing electrical, control and automation faults and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime
- Conducting routine inspections, testing and preventative maintenance in accordance with Australian Standards and Hutchies procedures
- Assisting with the assembly, commissioning, decommissioning and refurbishment of cranes and hoists in the yard and on project sites
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Developing, modifying and upgrading electrical panels, control circuits and associated systems
- Commissioning, testing and troubleshooting completed projects and electrical installations
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, service reports and compliance documentation
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
- Collaborating with the Crane & Hoist Team and project stakeholders to support safe and efficient project delivery
- Contributing to the ongoing reliability, performance and improvement of Hutchies' crane and hoist flee
#Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A current Queensland Electrical Licence and Trade Qualification as an Electrician
- Previous experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding, repair and installation work
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
- Current Driver Licence
- Construction Industry White Card
- A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- A down to earth, friendly and professional approach to your work
- Comfortable with working at heights
- Computer literate
Experience with tower cranes, hoists, lifting equipment, industrial machinery, PLC’s, VSD’s or control systems will be highly regarded, but is not essential
