Hutchies is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Estimating Assistant to join our Townsville team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you’ll support our Estimators in preparing accurate and competitive submissions across a variety of construction projects, an excellent opportunity to kickstart or grow your career in estimating within a supportive team.

#Responsibilities

As an Estimating Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in preparing and formatting bid documents for EOIs and tenders, ensuring alignment with client requirements and Hutchies’ standards
  • Help gather and organise project information, including scope, timelines, and evaluation criteria
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to collect data and pricing for submissions
  • Support the drafting and editing of proposal content, including summaries and pricing breakdowns
  • Coordinate with the communications team to include visuals and graphics in submissions
  • Maintain document control for all tender-related materials, ensuring the latest revisions are distributed to relevant parties
  • Assist with printing, binding, and electronic submission of bid documents
  • Keep estimating resources, templates, and content libraries organised and up to date
  • Provide general administrative support to the estimating team
  • Contribute ideas to improve the efficiency and quality of the estimating process

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Strong knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards
  • Proficient in Word and Excel to generate high-quality submission responses consistently using hutchies templates,
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down-to-earth, fun, friendly, and professional approach to your work
