Hutchies is seeking an experienced and skilled Machine Operator to join our hard working team based in our Toowoomba office on a full time permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work on long term projects with one of Australia's largest privately owned construction companies while contributing to the successful delivery of high quality construction outcomes.

This role will be working with our Hydraulic Internal Division, working across local and regional project sites, with travel and away from home work required.

#Responsibilities

As a Machine Operator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Safely operating a range of civil and construction machinery in accordance with site requirements and safety procedures
  • Conducting pre-start inspections and daily maintenance checks on machinery and equipment
  • Assisting with excavation, earthworks, site preparation, trenching, backfilling and material movement activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, defects and maintenance requirements
  • Maintaining high standards of site safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance
  • Reading and interpreting site plans, specifications and instructions where required
  • Supporting broader site operations and assisting team members when machinery is not in use
  • Completing all tasks in accordance with Hutchies' safety, quality and operational standards

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Current Construction Industry White Card
  • Relevant machine operating tickets, licenses and competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skill
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
