Hutchies is growing its Sydney team and we're looking for Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers who want to be part of something from the ground up.

With a significant Sydney opportunity expected to commence shortly, we're looking for people who enjoy taking ownership, building strong relationships and being involved in the real decisions that drive projects forward.

You'll work alongside an experienced leadership team, gain exposure to all aspects of project delivery and have the support and trust to make a meaningful contribution from day one.

We don't do layers of bureaucracy or endless reporting lines. We're a practical, down-to-earth team that backs our people, encourages initiative and works together to achieve great outcomes for our clients.

#Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and overseeing engineering and construction requirements to support the successful delivery of projects
  • Managing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to ensure works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
  • Preparing, reviewing and administering project documentation, including RFIs, procurement schedules, scopes of work and progress reports
  • Monitoring construction progress and supporting project planning, programming, cost control and forecasting
  • Identifying and managing project risks, issues and opportunities throughout the delivery process
  • Ensuring compliance with project specifications, contractual obligations, relevant legislation and company management systems
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
  • Providing guidance and support to Project Engineers and other members of the project team

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field for this role
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skill
  • Strong knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management platforms such as Procore, Aconex or similar
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
