Hutchies is looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our Cairns office in a full‑time, permanent capacity, contributing to the delivery of high‑quality projects across the region.

#Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the full lifecycle of construction projects, planning, delivery, and close‑out, ensuring they are completed, safely on time, on budget, and to Hutchies’ quality expectations
- Develop, monitor, and manage project programs, budgets, procurement strategies, and resource allocation to keep projects running smoothly
- Build strong relationships and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain alignment and momentum
- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant legislation, building codes, safety requirements, and Hutchies’ internal systems
- Proactively identify and manage project risks, variations, delays, and scope changes, implementing practical solutions to keep projects on track
- Oversee contract negotiations, subcontractor engagement, and the preparation, review, and administration of all project documentation
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, support site teams, and uphold Hutchies’ standards of safety and workmanship
- Prepare and present accurate project reporting, including cost tracking, progress updates, and performance insights, to the Team Leader and broader leadership
- Have previous experience in, and can continue to train and mentor Contract Administrators, supporting their growth and development
- Can confidently manage multiple projects simultaneously
#Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the respective field for this role
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards
- Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
- Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
- A down-to-earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
