Hutchies is looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our Hobart team on a full time, permanent basis. With a solid pipeline of upcoming work, we’re now seeking an experienced commercial construction Project Manager to help support and drive the growth of our Hobart operations.

#Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with Engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
- Hire Contractors and other company members and allocate responsibilities for the project
- Supervise the work of labourers, mechanics, etc. and give them guidance when needed
- Evaluate progress and prepared detailed reports
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
- Manage all aspects of project risk and opportunity
- Manage all financial aspects of the project including the preparation of monthly financial reports
- Ensure compliance of the project to the requirements of the contract, legislation, stakeholders and authoritie
#Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the construction industry
- An understanding of legislation applying to commercial construction in the state of Tasmania
- Strong knowledge of construction specific legislation and Codes of Practice
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
- Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
- A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
