#Role

Hutchies is seeking an experienced and capable Roving Foreman to join our Toowoomba team on a full time, permanent basis. Our Toowoomba team delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across Queensland and regional Australia, typically ranging from $500k to $80M.

In this role, you will operate across multiple sites rather than being assigned to a single project, providing you with broad exposure to a variety of builds. Projects span residential, education, health, industrial, and commercial sectors, offering ongoing variety and strong pipeline security. The role will also involve occasional travel and away work depending on project locations, providing further variety and experience across different regions.

As a key member of the Hutchies team, you'll find yourself immersed in a supportive and collaborative work environment. We pride ourselves on our down to earth culture and the close knit relationships we build internally and through our projects.

With a wide mix of projects, you’ll get great exposure and plenty of opportunities to grow, develop your skills, and build a strong, long term career with Hutchies.

#Responsibilities

As a Roving Foreman, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting multiple project teams across various sites, as required
  • Supervising and managing day to day site operations, including subcontractors, labour, and materials
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Attending project sites regularly and participating in site meetings as needed
  • Ensuring all construction activities are carried out in accordance with design documentation and specifications
  • Forecasting and planning project activities, materials, and resources to ensure efficient delivery across multiple sites
  • Monitoring and managing project progress, including tracking key milestones and performance
  • Identifying, managing, and assisting with variations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Upholding and enforcing WHS requirements to ensure all sites maintain a safe working environment
  • Proactively planning daily workflows to meet deadlines and site requirements
  • Providing practical solutions to on-site challenges and supporting teams to resolve issues quickly
  • Demonstrating strong leadership, accountability, and a positive influence across all site teams
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors

Project types include:

  • Residential and social housing developments (modular and conventional builds)
  • Education facilities (schools, training centres, childcare)
  • Health infrastructure (hospital redevelopments)
  • Industrial and defence projects (warehouses, manufacturing facilities, depots)
  • Commercial and community projects, including hospitality and government works

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 3 - 5 years of site management/foreman experience in the construction industry
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work

Agency submissions won't be considered for this position.
