Hutchies are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our hard-working team based in our Newcastle, NSW office on a full-time permanent basis.

#Responsibilities
As a Senior Estimator, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage the tender / bid process
- Lead the preparation and submission of tenders working in consultation with the team’s project manager and design managers
- Estimate project quantities and costs in the preparation of major tenders on a timely and cost-effective basis
- Develop scopes of works for subcontractors and complete detailed trade price reviews
- Monitor current competitive prices, new techniques, and cost trends
- Respond to post tender clarifications
- Supervise and develop support staff, such as junior estimators and cadets
- Provide technical inputs at a project level to assist project teams in submission and assessment of variations
- Supply project teams with clear, concise documentation and BOQ’s at contract commencement. Assist in allocating the Bill of Quantities for costing purposes
- Assist project teams in the financial administration of contractors
#Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the respective field for this role
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards
- Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
- Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
- A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
