Hutchies is on the lookout for a driven and experienced Structural Design Manager to join our Toowong team on a full-time permanent basis.

#Responsibilities

As a Structural Design Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage contracts, technical specifications, and stakeholder relationships
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, councils, authorities, and design teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
  • Assist the Project Management team to track project costs, forecast budgets, and report financials
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication across teams
  • Collaborate with Site Management and consultants for all constructability and temporary works elements of the project
  • Collaborate with Hutchies self-perform Formwork division
  • Provide technical guidance to site teams and ensure project designs, specifications and methodologies are understood and followed
  • Collaborate with geotechnical consultants to achieve efficient and practical engineering solutions for building foundations, basement retention systems
  • Drive consultants to complete detailed design and documentation within deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations
  • Recommend cost-effective construction strategies and integrate them into design

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in the respective field for this role
  • 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Strong knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
